Planning:
As a group we had to write up a script which was a few lines between a policemen and a suspect. we also had to draw a storyboard which contained a plan of what we wanted our short opening to be like. This short sequence could only last a minute which meant we couldn't make it complicated.
Script:
The characters involved were a policemen and a suspect.
Policemen: (walks in through the door) Hello Miss Geeta..
Suspect: Hello...
Policemen: Miss Geeta we are here to discuss a murder you are involved in...am i correct...?
Suspect: i don't know..!
Policemen: where was you on the 26th may 2009 at 18:00 hours..?
Suspect: i cannot remember
Policemen: Miss Geeta i have a CCTV footage of you so don't lie..
Suspect: I'm not lieing, i cannot remember
Policemen: (shows the footage)
Suspect: ( escapes to try and get away with the murder).
My Storyboard:

Shot list:
-Establishing shot of the Policemen walking to the door.
-Medium shot of the Policemen opening the door.
-Establishing shot of the Policemen walking to the chair across the room.
-Close up of the policeman's face.
-Shot/reverse shot of the characters having a discussion.
Shooting:
whilst shooting we had to focus on the the main rules of TV drama genre. when we were shooting a scene we had to make sure it was shot a few times so we could get the footage right. However we made sure that each character had similar shots (e.g. both characters would have a shot/reverse shot to show the emphasis of a conversation. When we were shooting we had to remember the 180 degree rule so we had to make sure that we shot the whole scene form one side. We were told that the a character who was on the left side of the TV was always the important character because the audience always analysis the text left to right.
Editing:
When we had completed the shooting we had to edit everything we shot but we had to edit individually. We used a sooftware called "Final cut pro" which we were taught the basic. I imported the footage from the camera to the mac and opened it up on the software. When it had loaded the footage had no sound which i then had to render it which took 5-10 minutes. during this process i had to cut out the footage which i didn't want on the final sequence. I found using Final cut pro very confusing and slightly differcult but i got through it everytime i was stuck. However my finished project is about a minute long which isn't very long once you watch it.
